Description
Geistlich Bio-Gide® is the leading collagen membrane for oral tissue regeneration. It is used in combination with a bone substitute such as Geistlich Bio-Oss® or Geistlich Bio-Oss Collagen®. Geistlich Bio-Gide® integrates with surrounding tissues to protect the initial coagulum. With its unique bilayer structure, Geistlich Bio-Gide® not only prevents ingrowth of soft tissue into the augmented site, but then optimally degrades to allow for the cascade of biologic events leading to regeneration. It is the sum of these characteristics that defines the biofunctionality of Geistlich Bio-Gide® and is the basis for its long-term clinical success.
Geistlich Bio-Gide® is naturally resorbable therefore a second surgery for removal of the membrane is not required. As it simplifies the surgical technique, and exhibits excellent wound healing properties, Geistlich Bio-Gide® has fundamentally changed dental bone regeneration.
